Terra devices do not record continuously unless placed into field recording mode. We record 3-second audio snippets when the AI system detects a potential bird or animal sound.

4. Data Usage and Ownership

Terra owns all audio data and metadata collected. We use it to improve identification, share with research partners, and support conservation efforts.

5. Data Security and Retention

We use strong encryption and access controls to protect stored audio and user data. Data is retained indefinitely unless required to be removed by law.
